Sunnyside 5, will strive to end the cycle of housing insecurity and homelessness for 14 students who are enrolled in college. These students will have a stronger chance to realize their goals. Vetted postsecondary students will receive low-cost supportive transitional housing and services for a period of 1 to 2 years or until the student is ready to transition into more permanent housing.

Through our partnership with LA Room and Board, Sunnyside 5 is a recipient of a Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) grant which will cover the full cost of the student’s room and board. The rental subsidy is provided to students who are enrolled in college and are matriculating in their program of study.

Sunnyside 5 is concerned with the health and wellness of our student residents.  Our program provides mental health resources. We are located in close proximity to Southwest College and accessible public transportation. Students may elect to walk or bike to campus, which promotes health and a sense of stability and wellbeing.
